If you rent out different types of accommodations and have, for example, 5 units of each type available, it is convenient to be able to show online in the search and book also how many of each type you still have available. It is often the case that the units within a certain type are almost identical, so you offer the accommodation as one type. For guests it is nice to be able to clearly see how many units are (still) available and at the same time you create scarcity by confronting guests with the fact that only a few units are still available. Thus, transparency ensures that guests are extra triggered to book.
