The task module in our reservation system is used daily by housekeeping staff, maintenance, landscaping, and other employees who help ensure guests have a pleasant stay. For recurring tasks, such as final cleaning, automatic tasks are created so that after each guest departs, a final cleaning task is assigned to the housekeeping staff. For odd jobs, such as replacing a light bulb, ad-hoc tasks can be created and assigned to a member of the technical services team. Since these types of tasks should ideally be completed before the accommodation is occupied again, each task includes the next scheduled arrival or booking. This information has always been visible to task staff, but it is also important for reception staff to assess task priorities and create an appropriate schedule.
