On-site surcharges now separately visible in the search & book section of the reservation system Update Reservation software 17 October 2025

It is now possible to create surcharges that guests only have to pay on location, which is particularly applicable for landlords who rent out their accommodations at third-party campsites/parks. These include extras such as bed linen, breakfast, or tourist tax, which sometimes only have to be paid upon arrival. These surcharges must be mentioned in the online booking process, as guests need to be able to see what the costs of their booking consist of. So when you create a surcharge as ‘payable on site’, it will be shown as such in the reservation process, so that the total cost of the reservation is transparent, but the part that must be paid on site is excluded from the online payment. The surcharges payable on site are also listed separately on the reservation confirmation and in the guest environment. When creating a new option or surcharge, you can check the ‘Option must be paid on site’ box to use this new feature.

This functionality is mainly used when separate costs are charged that are not payable by the landlord. Consider, for example, a situation where the guest books accommodation at a campsite; the rent is paid to the owner of the accommodation, but bed linen must be paid for on site to the campsite itself. The surcharges on site are therefore not recorded in the Recranet Booking administration and are only mentioned for the sake of completeness in the booking process.
